Waziristan Peace March with CODEPINK and Reprieve (UK)

As part of our anti-drone campaign, the Foundation for Fundamental Rights along with the legal charity Reprieve (UK) and PTI Chairman, Imran Khan invited CODEPINK and foreign filmmakers to take part in the Waziristan Peace March on 6th- 7th October 2012 against the use of US drones in Pakistan which have killed hundreds of civilians to date.

Hunerkada, Jamal Shah's art institute joined with FFR and Reprieve to create Bugsplat, an arrangement of exploded missiles accompanied by the photographs of their victims.

Bugsplat is the term used by the Americans after eliminating their target.

“The idea is to investigate and thrash out issues and figure out what the drone strikes really are. The presentation reflects on it through art without being propagandist,” said gallery owner and visual and performing artist Jamal Shah.

Training Conferences in Rawalpindi And Islamabad

FFR works on capital cases as these involve the most serious of human rights breaches. For this purpose, FFR worked with Reprieve on a “Death Penalty Manual” for purposes of training young criminal lawyers and drafted various sample court applications to introduce new avenues of helping one’s client on capital cases.

As part of its legal actions and campaign against drones, FFR remains extremely active in local and international media. Drone Strike Victims To Give Testimony In The US Congress

FFR arranged for, and prepared the victims of drone strikes to appear before the US Congress on 29th October 2013 to personally testify on drone strikes killing their families and urge the US government to stop killing civilians with weaponized unmanned aerial vehicles.
